Weekend Stay at Bayside Resort

Two weekends ago, Bayside Resort in West Yarmouth hosted Elle and I, as well as my parents for a little staycation.

We got so unbelievably lucky with the most gorgeous October weather, which made our stay that much more memorable. Bayside Resort is probably one of the most family friendly places to stay on Cape Cod, offering a year round indoor pool, seasonal outdoor pool, nightly s’mores by the fire pit, game room, complimentary breakfast buffet, and a fantastic location close to many restaurants, mini golf, shopping, beaches, and more.

Below is a recap of our weekend, and our top FIVE favorite things we enjoyed about Bayside Resort.

ONE: Lewis Bay Salt Marsh Estuary

The resort is situated on a salt marsh overlooking Lewis Bay. There are multiple spacious Adirondack chairs on this little beach, as well as chairs around the fire pits (which are lit at dusk to roast s’mores), and even some picnic tables off the sand.

We made ourselves very comfortable on the double Adirondack chairs facing the marsh, indulging in some champagne and chocolate, while spotting multiple species of birds, and enjoying the sun beaming down on our faces. If you have binoculars, bring them along!

We sat here until the sun began to set, and it was such a treat. I would spend at least 50% of your vacation on these chairs!

TWO: Resort Location

As previously mentioned, the resort is located in West Yarmouth, conveniently on Rt. 28. Nearby, you will find a ton of restaurants, as well as mini golf places, Cape Cod mall, and Hyannis Main St. with lots of cute shops.

I have been dying to try the Ocean House in Dennis (approximately a 20 minute drive), so we made a reservation (must make one, and do it well in advance), and had the best dinner there. It was truly one of my most favorite meals ever.

The next day we, we drove (about 15 minutes) to Gray’s Beach in Yarmouth Port where there is the most picturesque board walk over the marsh. The place is so serene, and I highly recommend a stop here!

If your family is into mini golf, there are several nearby the resort (Wild Animal Lagoon & Putter’s Paradise) as well.

THREE: Game Room

Okay.. so admittedly I don’t choose hotels based on whether or not they have a game room, but Elle was in all her glory when she discovered the game room at the resort. There are a few different games for kids of all ages, and Elle and my dad spent a solid hour there trying to win all the stuffed animals from the claw machine.

FOUR: Pool

Now pools are definitely on my list when choosing a place to stay. It keeps my water baby entertained for hours, and when it’s cold outside, the sight of a pool just makes me pretend I’m on a tropical vacation. The pool area also has a hot tub, and saunas. And in the summer, there is a beautiful outdoor pool overlooking Lewis Bay.

FIVE: Breakfast & Nightly s’mores

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and the complimentary breakfast at Bayside Resort was super convenient. No getting dressed, no driving, no waiting in line. They have a make your own waffle and pancakes station, as well as hot breakfast items, fruit, a variety of pastries/cereals/bread, as well as unlimited coffee! Win-Win!

As for the s’mores, when we checked in, we were greeted with a bag full of s’mores goodies (variety of chocolates, graham crackers, marshmallows, and roasting sticks).

In the evening the hotel staff light the firepits on the beach, and you get to make as many s’mores as your heart desires. Elle was one VERY happy girl!

Hope you guys enjoyed following along on this mini staycation!
